Tattoo Aftercare

Instructions

Follow these steps to ensure perfect healing

Once your tattoo is completed, the tattoo artist will thoroughly explain the aftercare method to ensure your tattoo looks flawless. Below, you can review the details and recommendations for optimal healing.

Initial Protection

At the end of the tattoo session, a first Second Skin patch will be applied. This first patch should be removed after 24 hours. It is recommended to remove it in the shower, as this makes the process easier and less painful. Once removed, wash the tattoo with water and a fragrance-free soap. Pat the area dry using paper towels—never rub or use a towel. Once the tattoo is completely dry, apply the second Second Skin patch.

Second Skin Healing

Keep the second patch on for 3 full days, without removing or touching it. This stage protects the tattoo and allows the skin to start healing safely.

Traditional Aftercare

After the 3 days with the second patch (a total of 4 days since the tattoo), remove it again in the shower. Begin the traditional healing phase: Wash the tattoo 2 to 3 times per day, depending on your skin type, using water and a gentle, fragrance-free soap. Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your tattoo. Dry the area gently by patting with kitchen paper towels. Apply 2 to 3 drops of Eucerin Aquaphor, spreading it evenly in a thin layer. Do not over-apply cream—overhydration can slow healing and affect the final result.

Long-Term Maintenance

Continue using Eucerin Aquaphor for two weeks, or until the tattoo is fully healed. Once healed, you may stop using Aquaphor and switch to a regular body moisturizer, to keep the skin healthy and the tattoo looking vibrant.
